Polydactyle Maine Coons

Polydactyle Maine Coons have allways been in the original stork, up to 40% of the cats where polydactyle. This is a harmless mutation that gives the cats more toes.
It can both occur as a mitten paw and as a snowshoe paw.
There is poly's, that only have extra toes on the front paws
and they are called 2WD (two wheel drive).
Then there are the poly's that also have extra on the hind paws,
they are called 4WD (four wheel drive).
It can happen, but it is rare that there only are poly paws one the bag and not the front, or that they only have one poly paws on the front paws.

The polydactyle Maine Coon cats are not included in the danish Maine Coon standard
in the catshows, but they can go to the show and get a comment,
but can not get a cetificate and will at the end be
disqualified.

Because these cats are so special in both character and looks,
they are getting more and more popular as pets and for breeding.
